Community Speedwatch is a volunteer led initiative that helps improve road safety by encouraging drivers to observe speed limits and drive responsibly through our villages and rural communities.
Working in partnership with Suffolk Police, trained volunteers monitor vehicle speeds at approved locations and record details of vehicles exceeding the speed limit. The aim is not to issue fines, but to raise awareness of speeding and help make our roads safer for everyone, including residents, pedestrians, cyclists and children.
Speedwatch are always looking for new volunteers to join our local Speedwatch team. Whether you can spare a few hours each month or would like to become more actively involved in promoting road safety, your support can make a real difference. No previous experience is required, and full training and equipment are provided.
Volunteering with Community Speedwatch is a rewarding way to contribute to your local area, meet other residents and help address one of the most common concerns raised within our communities.
If you are passionate about road safety and would like to help make our roads safer, we would be delighted to hear from you. New members are always welcome. Please contact the Parish Clerk for more information.
